Meet Claudia Dorman-Alonso, who also goes under the name Just Another Space on miPic and Instagram. Claudia is a multi-talented architect who equally expresses her creativity through collage art. How did you find miPic?
On Instagram and through other artists!
How did you come up with your artist name?
I literally just wanted to create a “space” for my art and show people my world- but of course, when coming up with my artist name there are so many of these “spaces” that it became ‘Just Another Space’!
Who are your artistic references/influences?
The list is endless but Sterling Ruby, Yayoi Kusama, Slim Aarons, Franco Moschino, (Brutalist Architecture in general)….
Where do you feel most inspired to create your work?
I can’t really relate inspiration to any particular place- but it’s nearly always when I’m alone. When I’m lying in bed at night just before falling asleep is the best time.
What is your favourite social platform?
100% Instagram
Which of your pieces is most meaningful to you and what’s the story behind it?
“You can carry the weight of the world if you break it down to the sum of its parts” is probably my most meaningful piece because of what I was experiencing at the time when it was created and how it gives me a lot of strength every time I look at it.

Fiorucci and Moschino
Is creating art / taking photos your full time job? If not, what do you do 9 till 5?
No, I studied architecture and I work at an architectural practice 9-5.30 everyday! My art and collages started off last summer as a hobby, and very quickly started to grow in a way I never imagined!
Who else do you admire on miPic?
MiPic has exposed me to so many great artists. A recent one I just found was Elisabeth Fredriksson.
What music are you listening too right now?
Both “The Greatest Showman” and “Bruk Off Yuh Back” have been at the top of my list this week! Literally the COMPLETE opposite to each other.
